Step-by-step journey
We have refined our process over hundreds of projects so that every client experiences a smooth, predictable path from raw footage to finished masterpiece.
Discovery and consultation
Every great project starts with a conversation. During our initial consultation — typically a thirty-minute video call or in-person meeting — we learn about your goals, target audience, brand identity, and the story you want to tell. We discuss the type of content you need, whether that is a brand film, event highlight reel, social media series, or training module. This is also the stage where we review your existing footage, assess its quality, and identify any gaps that might need additional shooting or stock material. By the end of this step, both parties share a clear understanding of the project's direction, tone, and desired outcomes. We document everything in a creative brief that serves as the project's north star throughout production.
Proposal and scope agreement
Based on the discovery session, we prepare a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work, deliverables, timeline, revision policy, and pricing. Our quotes are transparent — there are no hidden fees or surprise charges. We break down costs by phase so you know exactly where your investment goes, whether that is rough-cut assembly, colour grading, motion graphics, or sound mixing. Once you approve the proposal and submit the 50% deposit, we schedule your project into our production calendar and assign a dedicated editor who will be your primary point of contact throughout the engagement. This single-editor model ensures creative consistency and streamlined communication from start to finish.
Footage transfer and organisation
You upload your raw footage, audio files, brand assets, music selections, and any reference material through our secure file-transfer portal. We accept all major formats — ProRes, H.264, H.265, BRAW, R3D, and more. Upon receipt, our team catalogues every file, syncs multi-camera angles, labels scenes, and creates a structured project library. This meticulous organisation phase may seem invisible, but it dramatically accelerates the editing process and reduces the chance of errors. If your footage has audio-sync issues, inconsistent frame rates, or missing metadata, we flag and resolve those problems before a single cut is made.
Rough-cut assembly
With the creative brief as our guide, we assemble the first rough cut. This version focuses on narrative structure, pacing, and overall flow rather than polish. We select the strongest takes, arrange them in sequence, and establish the emotional arc of the piece. Temporary music and placeholder graphics may be included to give you a sense of the final feel. You receive a private review link where you can watch the rough cut and leave time-coded comments directly on the video. This collaborative feedback loop ensures your voice shapes the edit from the earliest stage, preventing costly rework later in the process.
Fine cut and revisions
After incorporating your feedback on the rough cut, we refine every detail. Transitions are polished, timing is tightened, b-roll is swapped or repositioned, and the narrative is sharpened. Our standard packages include two rounds of revisions at this stage. Each revision round follows the same review-link workflow — you watch, comment, and we implement. We treat your feedback with precision: every note is addressed, and we communicate clearly when a suggestion might conflict with technical constraints or creative best practices. The goal is a fine cut that you are genuinely excited about before we move into colour and sound.
Colour grading and sound design
Once the edit is locked, our colourist applies a grade that enhances mood, corrects exposure inconsistencies, and ensures visual coherence across every shot. Whether you want a warm, sun-drenched aesthetic or a cool, cinematic palette, we match the grade to your brand and story. Simultaneously, our audio engineer cleans dialogue, balances levels, layers sound effects, and mixes the final audio to broadcast-standard loudness (typically -14 LUFS for streaming or -24 LKFS for broadcast). Licensed music tracks are integrated, and any voiceover narration is synced and sweetened. The result is a video that looks and sounds professional on any device.
Final delivery and support
We export your finished video in the formats you need — 4K ProRes for archival, H.264 for web, vertical crops for social platforms, and anything else specified in the scope. All files are delivered via our secure portal with organised folder structures and clear naming conventions. We also provide a thirty-day support window after delivery during which you can request minor tweaks at no extra charge, such as swapping a title card or adjusting a music cue. If you need ongoing content support, we offer retainer packages that give you priority scheduling, discounted rates, and a dedicated creative team that already knows your brand inside out.
Why our process delivers results
Many video production experiences are plagued by miscommunication, scope creep, and endless revision cycles. Our structured process eliminates those pain points by establishing clear expectations, defined milestones, and collaborative feedback loops at every stage.
Because we assign a single dedicated editor to each project, you never have to re-explain your brand or preferences. Your editor becomes an extension of your team, understanding your visual language and audience as deeply as you do. This continuity reduces turnaround time and increases creative quality.
Our secure review platform replaces the chaos of email threads and scattered notes. Time-coded comments mean every piece of feedback is precise, actionable, and impossible to misinterpret. Clients consistently tell us that this tool alone makes working with Verity Video Edge feel effortless compared to previous experiences.
Finally, our transparent pricing and revision policy mean you always know what to expect financially. No surprise invoices, no awkward conversations about out-of-scope work. Just clear, professional collaboration from the first handshake to the final export.
Frequently asked questions
Have questions about how we work? Here are answers to the most common queries we receive from new clients.
Timelines vary based on project complexity. A short social media clip can be turned around in three to five business days, while a full corporate brand film typically takes two to four weeks from footage receipt to final delivery. During the proposal stage, we provide a detailed schedule with specific milestone dates so you can plan your launch or campaign accordingly.
We work with virtually every professional and consumer video format, including ProRes, H.264, H.265, BRAW (Blackmagic RAW), R3D (RED), ARRIRAW, MXF, MOV, and MP4. If you are unsure about your footage format, simply send us a sample file and we will confirm compatibility before you upload the full project.
Absolutely. Collaboration is central to our process. You receive private review links at the rough-cut and fine-cut stages where you can leave time-coded comments. Some clients prefer to join a live screen-share session with their editor for real-time feedback. We are flexible and adapt to whatever communication style works best for you.
Yes, we offer expedited turnarounds for time-sensitive projects such as event recaps or breaking-news content. Rush fees apply and depend on the scope of work and current production schedule. Contact us as early as possible so we can assess availability and provide an accurate quote.
Additional revision rounds can be arranged at a per-round fee, which we quote transparently before any extra work begins. In practice, most clients find that two rounds are more than sufficient because our structured feedback process captures all notes efficiently. If you anticipate a project with many stakeholders and complex approval chains, we can build extra rounds into your original proposal at a discounted rate.
